Concept Design: E-paper Music Score

e-paper music score

Musician or not, it’s quite impressive to see a design that eliminates page flipping of a music score. Designer Serina Sung has come up with the EMS (E-paper Music Score), a flexible e-paper display that can syndicate music scores via Bluetooth. The design also implements a foot pedal to assist the musician with “page turning.” Since e-paper technologies use very little power, a device like this would be extremely reliable during long concerts. In addition, the contrast and reflectivity would enable easy reading under low light conditions. This is extremely advantageous over traditional backlit panel displays, which would fatigue the eyes, and interfere with the performance’s surrounding light ambience.

I would love to have one like this. Tired of carrying kilos of music to weddings, beside my cello.
