AU is a very big player in the display market, and it has been one of Taiwan's leading companies. So whatever area of e-paper they get into it's bound to be big!

I would agree that AU is a key player in the display market. Their biggest investments were in LCDs and flat screens. I think they could leverage their knowledge in LCDs and make it worth their while to dabble in epaper.
