The Washington Times have said that they are currently looking at the possibility of creating a customized version of the weekly paper. The Times is working with Océ, Printcasting, MediaNews Group and Syntops.

If everything goes well, Washington Times readers could have this individualized issue starting in Spring.

although the report didn't say if the Times is looking at e-Paper as the solution, Syntops have been working with several European publications on what they call Personal News, which uses both printed pdf files and e-paper devices to deliver content from a variety of sources

Esquire's e-paper cover was one-off right? and it only involved the magazine's cover. So I guess you're right, this is the first of its kind :)

There are a lot of struggling newspapers who are looking at switching to e-paper... and the thing is, there are also newspaper CHAINS that are looking into it.

Again, let's see e-paper as a natural progression for newspapers, not just a way of getting out of its financial troubles :)
