We were in New York for the weekend to attend to some wedding (my wife's side) We stayed at the Alogonquin, and I got a pleasant surprise to find Kindles in our room, which was preloaded with, FREAKONOMICS, which is my favorite book at the moment (still rereading it, after 10 re-reads)!

This is one great way to surprise your guest! Other hotels should follow their footsteps and innovation!

I would have to agree, that's better than those fattening mints :)

That's awfully thoughtful of them. I agree this is a great way to hook your guests

I wonder why they don't give you a physical book instead. Or those other hotels without kindles could give a book until they get kindles :)

I guess that's too much wishful thinking!

Well, a book is going to be expensive. Imagine having to have every title in your inventory imaginable. You won't have space for people to sleep in... or even perhaps there won't be enough space to store your books.

What's more, with Kindle guests will be benefitted because it's easy to carry around and it's really high-tech (the novelty is there) And once a guest leaves, the management could just pre-load it with another book for another guest.

Interesting. You've given an idea: I could get all my books digitized, store them up in my Kindle and sell them :) I earn extra money and I get extra space around the house too!

my husband and I were at the Alogonquin during the Christmas holidays as well, and they gave me War and Peace, which is what I put down as my favorite book... I didn't feel like reading War and Peace over Christmas, and they changed the loaded book for me :) That's convenience and customer service for you!

in ancient times, transportation was very inconvenient.new jordans basketball shoes sale that’s why the attendants of lady yang yuhuan had to spend several days bringing her favorite litchi from the south to xi’an. now, however, it only takes two or three hours for delivery by plane. modern transportation seems to have shortened the distance.
owing to the convenience of modern transportation, people make contact with each other more frequently. they no longer regard a foreigner on the street as a monster. besides, people of different nationalities are getting to know and understand each other better.
to sum up, with more and more advanced means of transportation, and more and more frequent contact among distant people, the world tends to be like one big family. no wonder that most of us feel that the world is getting smaller and smaller.
