It seems that more and more newspapers are thinking of going electronic using e-paper. After the New York Times and Washington Post, Seattle's Post-Intelligencer is said to be working on an e-paper version for its publications.

That's interesting. I thought they were closing down the Post-Intelligencer if it is not bought by the end of March this year?

Rumor has it that the P-I and all other Hearst publications are part of the list of publishing partners that Plastic Logic will be working with. As you all know, Plastic Logic will be announcing which publications are going to be available for Plastic Logic's new reader.

The main site has a great article on the plight of struggling newspapers and how maybe e-paper could help

Yes, it's on Feb. 9. BUT this is just a rumor. Plastic Logic has already said that Hearst publications are not among the list of publishing partners they have finalized.

More than having a doomsday scenario play out for newspapers think of it as a natural progression. Newspapers are perfect for e-readers, and they should look at it as another avenue... even when they're not in trouble.

A natural progression indeed. It's just too bad that they have to go into a recession before realizing what a wonderful "natural progression" it is!

yup. which is why most people think that Hearst will be converting to e-paper and stop traditional printing.
