E-paper and textile

Would it be possible to integrate e-paper with textile to form an some sort e-paper outer material for clothing and bags? Or isn't e-paper flexible enough for these kind of applications? I've seen some sort of e-paper jacket somewhere, but i don't know if it was very comfortable.

    And cost-wise? Any suggestions/opinions?

At the moment it isn't feasible because current screens on the market aren't able to be flexible enough. Hopefully however there will be some new technologies advancing the backplane design because it is this which needs to be mounted on some support meaning the screen isn;t flexible. The frontplane should be flexible though.

I would imagine something like a bag would be first and clothing sometime after - I imagine that it might be a bit uncomfortable in clothing entirely made from e-paper as it won't "breathe" but patches could certainly be done.

Costwise you'd expect them to be expensive at the moment, but hopefully as more companies come to the market the price will be driven down.

If you haven't seen it, there is one fashion item which you can buy at the moment - there is a watch with an e-ink screen.

This might be possible with simplistic implementation of E Ink's Ink-in-motion technology. it would have to be added to a thicker region on the garment - basically an area that is as thick as the "esquire 25th anniversary" cover. I believe "motion display" (based out of sweden) is experimenting with this now - http://www.motiondisplay.com/. keysersoze is right, it will be expensive.

Great to hear. There are a few other competitors similar to Motion Display. Check out Neolux and Midori Mark.
