Photo frames are perfect for e-paper devices. Digital photo frames that are currently availale draws too much power and is very wasteful.
So using the e-paper technology would be a boon for digital photo frames, don't you think?

I agree 101%! e-paper technology would save on power costs, and it's thinner than what's currently available. I think you may have hit on a goldmine there.

It should be well designed, though. I think color e-paper technologies now are kinda slipshod at best, so the color might be a problem. But then again, we are surprised with innovations coming in and at a cheaper price at that! So I guess, it's not so far off in the future that people would be displaying digital photo frames in their living rooms.

I think I've heard about a recent release like this one... a full-color digital photo frame that uses e-paper technology, it only draws power when connecting to a USB memory stick to change the display, then powers off again.
am not sure where i read it though.

I think that using paper would be a great idea. That way, you save money from saving electricity, and you have a dynamic and high-tech piece in the living room.

I've recently bought an e-paper photo frame... i will concede that it's darker than LCD photoframes, but it's great nonetheless!

I agree!!! i also think it would be good for cash machines, i mean think about how much energy those things waste!!! they are on 24/7!!! and they dont need videos and stuff on the screen!!

Also cant wait until they start using e-paper as price tags!!The problem with cash machines is that most e-paper is reflective. No light, no screen. At night for cash machines you would always need some form of illumination
