My friend told me that the army should be the first users of e-paper screens. It's because they have significant funding into its research and development. E-paper should replace those bulky equipment they have to lug around.

This should see some great applications coming out for the military. And if the GPS was any indicator, whatever military innovations that come off the market will have some civilian uses as well.

yeah, i've heard that too. The good thing is, the army could use these screens to view maps and get information... they would only need that simple screen, which they could roll up and fold out. They won't have to open their laptops, and then connect and all that :)

Well, if it all goes well, then consumers could have more products with e-paper technology available for them.

Well, I agree, they did fund it :) And I think it's a great way to test out these products.

I do hope so. At least by the time any military applications come to us, it would have been fine tuned and all.
