How often is the e-paper reference guide updated? Even though only producers of technology is featured in the guide, I think that all the different manufacturers of e-readers and other e-paper devices should be listed with remarks on which technology they are using. It would help sort out the hardware producers from the companies delivering the technology behind the devices.

Visiting and revisiting this site reveals to me that it really isn't very much going on in here. There are months between every news posting and the forum isn't exactly pulsating. A site named epapercentral should aim higher, I think. Today google is my epaper central, a daily search for the last 24 hour's internetpostings of "e-reader" and "electronic paper" shows that these are exciting times for everybody interested in the development of electronic paper. How about linking to all the news and analysis that is published around the internet every day? And I don't just think technology and new devices. E-paper's impact on consumer's market and other industries should be interesting as well. For instance, the effort Condé Nast, Hearst and Time are pulling off to publish their magazines on epaper is very interesting.

    Hi there,

We decided on not including manufacturers in the reference guide since the guide would be overwhelming, although we might add it in a condensed format in the near future.

For now, you can find what technology an e-reader uses by viewing e-readers in the "e-reader reviews" page. To save you time, I can tell you that 90%+ are using E-Ink's Vizplex technology. This will change in the near future, as many other technologies will be implemented in e-readers.

I agree that there is SO much more going on in the e-paper world right now. Our writers will begin to do weekly postings by the end of this month. I really appreciate you writing us and expressing the urgency. We agree 100%!

"How about linking to all the news and analysis that is published around the internet every day?
How do you suggest we post all these items?"

Our site is currently setup to be for articles. Have you seen that type of format implemented on any other websites?

    Regards,

Well, my company's intranet has a kind of newsflash list with linked headlines on a side bar, which is updated continously. I suppose that could work. Today, for instance, you could have linked to the following news/analysis/interesting stuff:
Ten predictions for the e-book market in 2010: http://paidcontent.org/article/419-ten-predictions-for-the-e-book-market-in-2010/
Kindle wins e-reader war - for now: http://telephonyonline.com/service_delivery/commentary/kindle-wins-ereader-war-1201/
Amazon is reaping short term gaines in e-reader market: http://www.newsfactor.com/story.xhtml?story_id=0010002EDD0H
    Record sales for Kindle: http://www.e-gear.com/article/amazon-set-new-record-sales-its-kindle-e-reader-device-november-company-announced-week-414818_1.html
    Sony drops e-reader pricing: http://www.marketnews.ca/LatestNewsHeadlines/SonyDropseReaderPricing.html
Report predicts e-readers will be a major disruptive technology: http://thecite.blogspot.com/2009/12/report-predicts-e-readers-will-be-major.html

If the place set aside for this newsflash was fixed, old stories would just disappear as new news emerged. But I suppose an archive-button could be useful for those interested in old stories.
