    Hello All,
Im a designer and I was wondering if its possible at this time to use ePaper on a cover of a book (nothing too fancy, simple animation) and how much would it cost. The book would only be around 100 copies, limited edition.

thank you for getting back to me.

Hi Fadi. That is certainly possible. If you search this site and youtube for "Esquire EInk" you will see an example of this which has been done on a magazine and an advert inside the magazine. They use an E-Ink film and have a screen placed over the top to give images while the film changes behind giving the appearance of a flashing picture. There does need to be some simple ciruitry and a battery but the films last quite a long time and give quite a nice effect. I'm not sure how expensive this would be though! Hope this helps - I'm sure someone will reply soon with links to the esquire cover I mentioned but google will find it quite quickly too!

I'm not sure if it is feasible for only 100 copies. You might be able to get a manufacturer to sponsor your project to showcase it's various uses. Try getting a hold of E Ink.

    good luck.

one more note: the technology to go with for this is E Ink's INK in MOTION
