This is one cool ereader. Well worth every penny I paid for it, like the powerhouse of ereaders. It can do almost anything! I’m glad I didn’t sell for some knock off model that just does a few things good, while this does everything awesomely.

You see one ereader, you seen them all. I got this because I thought it would be worth the extra money, and it wasn’t. I could’ve just gone with the cheaper Sony model and been good. Oh well, live and learn.

I had this reader for 18 months, sold it last week. It was one great device, the right size for pdf books and documents. Zoom is one of the best features, gets rid of white margins, almost every pdf becomes readable. Being able to take notes and annotate is another great feature. I used wifi to sync it with my computer wirelessly (computer was getting rss/blog/news updated periodically, and I could get all that to iLiad with one push of a button). I did not like the long time for starting up (almost a minute), had gotten used to instant access to Sony reader.
I’m waiting for Kindle DX, hoping it will be as good a device as my iLiad was.

Okay, I originally bought a Sony 700 because I thought I was going to get a cool ereader with touchscreen technology. I was wrong. The touchscreen was glaring and lagging. So I returned that to the store and did a bit more searching around and found this little wonder.
It’s a bit more expensive but it is soo worth it. There is a touch screen, but it doesn’t have any glare at all! Sony pay attention - this is what a touchscreen ereader should be like. There is no glare and it works like a charm. I can doodle and draw and there is no lag!
I can even write music compisition, play suduko- this thing is like a powerhouse of an ereader. You get all of the non-glare, easy to read paper like display with the abilities of a palm pilot. This is a great tool, and well worth the extra price.

This reader is leaps and bounds above the rest, but I really can’t justify the price range. I got it as a gift, and ended up returning it and getting hte Kindle, since I didn’t need all the bells and whistles. I just needed something portable I could read books on that looked nice. This is probably super awesome for someone who needs to use it, but for me it was an overkill. I just need to buy books and read ‘em.
I did like the zoom, and the larger page display. But I don’t miss it, now that I switched over.

I’m an editor at a small press and this thing is a life saver. I can mark up documents on the road and it doesn’t strain my eyes at all. Then I can easily email it to the publisher for okay. This thing has saved me so much time, money and headaches. Whatever you do, don’t lose the stylus though. It’s not a true touch screen- it reacts to the stylus. But I like this better than a touch screen, since it works like writing on a notebook. Which is just what I needed.
This thing is perfect. For all the time and work I’ve saved myself from doing, this earned back it’s hefty price tag in the first week.. Highly recommended.

We’re thinking of buying these for a replacement to all of our textbooks at our university- so far, it’s beating out the competition. It’s clearer then the Sony 700, and it has a ton features we need that the Kindle hasn’t even dreamed of yet. Throw in a nice, large screen, and where almost sold.
It just needs to come down in price, really. Right now the difference between buying the print text books and buying the Iliad and the etextbooks is marginal, if any. So far it’s beating out the competition, it just needs to drop down the cost a bit. If they don’t, the Kindle DX or the Sony PRS 700 is a nice compromise.
