Well, it lacks some of the punch of more expensive models, but I’m really happy with what I got. I can read books wherever I want, and buy them from wherever or download them and it’s all cool. I would’ve liked a larger screen or a touch screen or color or something, but for the price it’s rock awesome.

I got this one after the Kindle 2 and the PRS 707 came out, mostly cause I wanted an ereader that was light and quick and wouldn’t break the bank. Very good choice! I’m so glad I waited. This thing rocks.

It’s all right. I got it right before the 707 came out, and I wish I woulda waited. At least Kindle users that bought right before the Kindle 2 came out got an upgrade at no extra cost. No such luck for me. It does work really well, and I’m glad I got it. I just really want the cool touch screen and backlighting of a 707.

This is a kick butt book reader. I’ve used it non stop since I bought it, and I filled the thing up with free ebooks from all over the place, all of them 100% legal. I mean, to buy all the classics I’ve been dying to read for awhile in print would’ve cost me a fortune.
Anyway, I shopped around a bit before I got this one. I was torn between it and the Kindle 2, but the price of the Kindle 2 was a deal breaker. Sure, it would’ve been cool to have the wireless. But I don’t miss it at all. I can download books in seconds, and the screen is really clear and sharp. It really is like reading a real book.
I’m not a huge fan of the buttons. Maybe a laptop/mouse pointer interface in the future? Or iPhone style touchscreen? One can only hope. But for right now, I’m happy.

I got this after looking at the Kindle 2 for a bit and then deciding on this model instead. It’s a lot cheaper, yet I get all the books and the clear interface, which is awesome. And hey- it also has a USB storage plug! That is super cool! I can just plug in my thumbdrive and have another 4-8gb of space for books! That is cool.
Now I just need fill this baby up before my next trip. I love reading on the plane, and this just takes the cake. Good job sony.

I’ve had this model for a while now, after upgrading from the 500. It’s very nice, and has a lot of improvements, esp with the interface. Turning pages with a single button, jumping to bookmarks and all that stuff is very cool. I also like the extra storage and the fast page turning. I haven’t tried any of the other ereaders yet, so I’m not sure how this compares to them. But it works really well for me, and supports any kind of book I throw at it and they all look super good.
I plan on getting the 700 model in the near future, but still haven’t found the need to upgrade just yet. This is a very solid little machine, and it’s slim and trim and fits neatly into my jacket pocket.

I got this because it was about $200 or so with a sale at Borders, and that made it the cheapest Ereader I’ve ever seen. I wish I would’ve spent the extra money on a Kindle though, just for the price of the books. I like the contrast, and it’s easy to use and view stuff. And I like being able to plug in a jumpdrive and have all that extra space, esp since I’m a Mac User and it’s easy to do.
But the Sony BOokstore is too expensive. Kindle books are only 9.99- which is a little more expensive than a paperback, but that’s it. Sony’s books are hardcover prices! After already spending 200$ on an ereader! That’s crazy.
I returned it after a week or so, and just bought a buncha books with the money. Maybe later I’ll get an ereader I want.

I got the Sony PRS-505 not too long after it first came out and I am still happy. It is able to handle most of the common formats (Calibre software can convert the rest), has TWO expansion card slots, and is easy to use.
I was looking to upgrade, but after comparing all of the new ereaders out there and reading all of the glowing reviews for the 505 I have decided to stay put. Every review says the same thing: works great, awesome screen and battery life, solid device. It may not have WiFi, but who needs it? That’s what the computer is for No touch screen…So? Those things tend to have issues as they age. The 505 is a modern classic that will continue to hold its own.

I LOVE my Sony reader! I have hundreds of books on the main memory and a ton more on the SD card. I can even add a memory stick for MORE memory if I need it. It’s an entire library in my hand.
The screen is easy to read, the battery lasts forever, and the Sony book store has tons of books. I can even download free books from all over the place. Every classic and public domain book is out there just waiting to be downloaded and read! The Sony reader rocks!

I got the Sony E Reader 300 for Christmas and I LOVE it! Nice, sleek design. Very lightweight, and EASY to use. Books load in seconds, and it is very user friendly.
I can actually download books from the local library, so it is very economical. The controls are much like the I-POD. Would have liked to have back lighting, but that is not a big deal, really, as the text can be adjusted. Really happy with it, although it is not the model listed above, it is a nice model. At only $200, it is a nice price, too!
